His Goodness And Mercy Follow

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:6‬

Psalm 23 is a very popular chapter as a whole but today we will focus on just one verse. There are two things that follow every child of God: goodness and mercy. The word used here for follow means to pursue or chase after.

God pursued you with the call to salvation and He continues to pursue you. His goodness and mercy follows you wherever you go. God can only give good gifts. Please let that sink down deep into your heart. God loves you and only desires to see good things happen in your life. God’s goodness and mercy are gifts of protection to allow you to live with full confidence.

Not that we should boast, but we should walk around with a sense of confidence. A confidence that assures us that we have God on our side. If God be with us, who can be against us, right? God wants us to know without a doubt that He offers goodness and mercy that will never leave us and is always surrounding us.

Is there anything that has you upset or frustrated today? Let this verse be an attitude changer. If you let the things of this world get you down you are not enjoying the gifts of God. Too many Christians are moping around like they just left the dentist. We should be making a difference in our families, our workplace, our communities, and even in our church. God’s goodness and mercy is closely following us. Let your confidence of God’s goodness and mercy make someone else wonder what you’re up to. Let your smile be so compelling that people can only smile back in return.

Pray

Lord, thank you for giving me good gifts. Help me to know that you only want good things to happen today. Let my attitude reflect the blessings You have given to me.

America Needs A Revival

‘Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. ‘
Daniel 9:3-5

We serve a merciful and forgiving God. God is love but He is holy as well. Because God is Holy, He must judge and separate those who do not keep His commandments.

God wants to forgive and God wants to show mercy, but are we praying for it?

In this context, God’s people were taken into Babylonian captivity. They were exiled and caused to serve another nation and their leaders. They were made to bow and worship false gods and serve the gods of the pagans.

But Daniel didn’t do it. Daniel was a man committed to Jehovah God. Daniel never compromised in his relationship with God.

We need to pray for our nation. As a nation we are facing extreme spiritual division and rebellion. Prayer will make a difference.

Daniel knew that the only thing that could make a difference was to pray to God. He humbled himself and set his face toward the Lord and began to beg God for mercy and forgiveness.

Can you be like Daniel today and pray for God to show mercy and forgiveness upon our nation? Can you have confidence that God will hear your prayers?

America needs a revival but it will not happen until the people of God turn to Him with humble hearts. America needs our churches and Christians to turn the world around. It will only take a few to pray with intensity and confidence. Can you be that person today?

Pray

Lord, our nation has turned away from You and fallen into the captivity of the evil one. We need You to show mercy and forgive us of our sins. Hear us Lord and hold back Your judgments upon us.

God Has No Limits

‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, ‘
Ephesians 3:20

Paul’s desire is that we fully understand the riches of God’s grace and love. We may never know the entirety of God’s goodness until we get to Heaven. Paul wants us to grasp that God is able to do things that we cannot even imagine.

God only wants what is good for us. However we must trust that God is able to do things in our life that is supernatural and miraculous. God is all-powerful and all-knowing!

Paul uses a unique word to describe God’s greatness in power. Some translations of the term include “immeasurable”, “above and beyond”, and “infinitely more.” Ultimately there is no limit as to what God is able to do for us.

When was that last time you were blown away by an answered prayer? Did God not prove His love for you in giving you more than you asked for?

One might argue that the reason we don’t witness great and awesome things of God is because of our lack of faith and disbelief. God wants us to trust in Him for all things.

Jesus revealed to men what God is able to do if only we place our faith in Him. Only a few followers witnessed the glory of God through His Son. God wants to show us what He is able to do in our lives.

Take a little time today to experience God’s goodness. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Ask God to reveal some supernatural things to you.

Pray

Lord, You are completely amazing. Words cannot even describe what You are able to do. You do it all because You love me and want what is good for me. Thank You, Lord!
