Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
Psalms 56:3 NKJV
Question
What fear do you need to surrender to God today?
Context
Fear is something every person faces. There are fears about the future, finances, health, family, and situations beyond our control. Even strong believers experience moments of anxiety and uncertainty. David understood this well when he wrote Psalm 56. He was surrounded by enemies and facing real danger, yet he made a powerful decision: instead of allowing fear to control him, he chose to trust God.
Application
Notice that David did not say he would never be afraid. He said, “When I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” Faith is not the absence of fear. Faith is choosing to place our confidence in God even while fear tries to rise within us. Trust shifts our focus from the size of the problem to the greatness of our God.
God never promised a life without challenges, but He did promise His presence through every trial. When fear whispers that we are alone or overwhelmed, God reminds us that He is near, faithful, and in control. The more we trust Him, the more peace begins to replace panic.
Truth For The Day
Fear may come, but faith reminds us that God is greater than every fear we face.
Pray
Lord, when fear tries to overwhelm me, help me place my trust in You. Remind me that You are always near and that nothing is beyond Your control. Fill my heart with peace and strengthen my faith each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
