Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.
Judges 13:1 NKJV
Question
Will you trust God while you wait?
Context
Israel’s story in Judges is a repeated cycle: rebellion, consequences, crying out, and deliverance. Judges 13:1 reminds us that sin can create seasons where it feels like nothing is changing. Israel had once again turned away from God, and for forty years they lived under Philistine oppression. Yet God had not abandoned them.
Before Israel even cried out, God was already preparing deliverance. He sent an angel to announce the birth of Samson, a child who would begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines.
Application
Sometimes we look at our circumstances and wonder, “Where is God?” But God can be working long before we see the evidence. His silence is not His absence. His timing is not our timing.
Truth for Today
God is still working, even when you cannot see what He is doing.
Pray
Lord, help me trust You when I cannot see Your plan. Remind me that You are always working. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
