The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭13‬

Fathers hold a position in which they are to be providers and protectors. But just as important they hold the position as a teacher. Fathers teach us important life lessons. Consider some of the qualities that make a godly father’s role remarkable.

First, a godly father is to show love and compassion. He is caring and considerate to the needs of his children.

Second, a godly father listens and understands. A compassionate father doesn’t just hear but he understands the needs of his children. He understands their fears, joys, and concerns.

Third, a godly father gives godly guidance and wisdom. He helps their children be able to navigate life’s greatest challenges with faith and confidence.

God gives us the perfect example as being the good, good Father. His compassion never fails and His mercy never runs out. He guides us all the day long.

Whether you are a father or you have been impacted by a father, you know the importance of the position. Thank God we have fathers who desire to pour their wisdom and discipline into the lives of others. Honor and appreciate your father today.

Pray

Lord, thank You for giving me a father who demonstrates Your great love and compassion. Help me to give godly wisdom and discipline to the people You have put in my life. Let Your word penetrate my heart and mind. In Jesus’ name, amen

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬

In today’s verse, the apostle Paul presents a chain of questions that highlight the importance of sharing the Gospel. It begins with the question, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?” The implication is clear: people need to know about Jesus to believe in Him. But how will they believe unless they hear about Him?

This verse underscores the crucial role of those who proclaim the Good News – the preachers, evangelists, and every believer who shares their faith. We are called to be the messengers who bring the message of hope and salvation to a world in need. Just as someone once shared the Gospel with us, we are now entrusted with the task of passing it on.

Today, let’s reflect on our responsibility to share the Gospel. Whether it’s through our words, actions, or lifestyle, we have the privilege of introducing others to the transformative power of Christ’s love. Let’s not underestimate the impact we can have on someone’s life by being a vessel for God’s message of redemption.

Pray

Lord, thank You for the precious gift of Your Gospel. I acknowledge my role in sharing this message of hope with a world in need. Please grant me the courage, wisdom, and opportunities to proclaim Your truth to those who have not yet heard. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬

It’s easy to become self-absorbed, focusing solely on our own needs and desires. However, in Philippians 2:4, the Apostle Paul reminds us of a higher calling – a calling to exemplify the selfless love of Christ.

The verse begins with the word “Let,” which implies a choice we must make. We have the choice to live self-centered lives or to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who displayed the ultimate act of selflessness on the cross. He looked beyond His own interests and willingly laid down His life for the salvation of humanity.

Paul encourages us not only to consider our own interests but also to actively seek the interests of others. This means taking the time to understand the needs and concerns of those around us. It means showing compassion, lending a helping hand, and being willing to sacrifice our own comfort for the well-being of others.

Selfless love is not always easy. It requires humility and a willingness to put others first. But when we choose to follow Christ’s example, we become instruments of His love and grace in the world. Our actions reflect the transformative power of the Gospel.

As you go about your day, ask yourself, “How can I actively seek the interests of others today?” It might be a simple act of kindness, a listening ear to a friend in need, or a sacrificial gesture. Remember that in selfless love, we find the true essence of Christianity, and we become vessels through which God’s love can shine brightly.

Pray

Lord, help me to live out Philippians 2:4 today. Teach me to be selfless. Help me to look beyond my own interests and actively seek the interests of others, becoming instruments of Your love and grace in the world. In Jesus’ name, amen
