Abide In The Shadow Of God

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1

Has there ever been a time that you felt the Lord abandoned you in a difficult situation?  Rest assured that He has never left you nor has He ever forsaken you.  He can’t and He won’t.

As long as we belong to Him this promise remains forever.  His love is too great to abandon us.  He desires for His children to rest in His presence.

He is the One to turn to when in we run into trouble.  He is our safe place as this 911 verse promises.  The word “dwell” means to to take up residence. We live in the presence of God and seek Him as our shelter.

The shelter of God is our protection.  This verse reminds us that He is continually looking over us and keeping us safe.  In the shadow we find relief from the heat.  Staying in His shadow guards us from disastrous elements.

Remember that as a child of God you will never walk alone.  Even though your struggles may seem hard and heavy, you still have the stronghold of God Almighty at your side.  Your difficulties are strengthening you for your next assignment from God.

The entire chapter of Psalm 91 is packed full with the power of God.  It reminds us that He faithfully works all things together on behalf of those who love Him.  Allow God to fight your battles and use your circumstances to make you stronger in your faith.

Pray

Lord, help me to rest in Your presence and seek Your protection in all my situations.  Place me right where You want me to be. I will praise You in my storms.

Rejoicing In His Salvation

And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord ; It shall rejoice in His salvation.
Psalms 35:9

Do people believe that the most important thing to you is God?  It’s one thing to say that God is the most important thing; it’s another to prove it.

We must celebrate God in front of everyone we know.  We should never hide the fact that we belong to Jesus.  People should hear you speak about the One who gives you life and life eternal.

Do you take your relationship with God serious?  If you say yes, how much time do you spend with Him?  More importantly though, would God say you take your relationship with Him serious?

David took his relationship with God very serious.  He promised that his entire being would be given to honor God.  He truly celebrated and rejoiced in knowing God.

It makes a difference when we can rejoice in His salvation.  It’s not our salvation.  Salvation belongs to God and is given to us through the blood of Jesus Christ.  That is something to celebrate about!

When you know you are saved and redeemed you can’t help but let others know it.  You can’t hide it under a bushel.  Let the whole world know who you belong to.

Pray

Lord, I praise You and honor You as my Lord and Master.  Give me courage to never be ashamed to tell others that I love You.  May my life prove that love You more than anything in my life.

The Purpose Of Serving God

For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption.
‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:36‬ ‭

David had a servants heart. He was committed to being a servant for God. David learned how to please God in every situation.

The key to David’s life was doing what God purposed him to do. When David faced his final days of his life he could look back and smile with confidence knowing he lived his life for the glory of God. That is an amazing testimony.

Throughout the Bible we read about men and women who were servants for God. They did what God purposed for them to do. Their purpose was to please God.

The greatest servant who gave Himself entirely for the purpose of God was Jesus. In His humanity, He gave His life for the sake of sinful man. God, the Father, was well pleased!

Are you a faithful servant for God? As Christians it is our ambition to serve as Christ served. We are to humble ourselves to the point of being servants for others.

Your purpose in life is to be a servant of God.  Search and see who you can serve today. Be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need the love of God.

Pray

Lord, allow me to serve and minister to someone who is in need.  Show me what they need. Give me a servant’s heart to be a blessing to someone else.
