Devotional For May 14, 2024

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬

When we grasp the reality of our crucifixion with Christ, it transforms our perspective on life. No longer are we slaves to our old sinful nature or the pressures of this world. Instead, we are empowered to live by faith in Jesus, drawing upon His strength, wisdom, and love to guide us.

We are called to live in the reality of our union with Christ. Just as Paul experienced, our old selves have been crucified with Christ, and we have been raised to new life in Him. This truth has profound implications for how we live each day.

Living by faith in Christ means surrendering our wills and desires to Him, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and direct our steps. It means trusting in God’s promises and relying on His grace to sustain us through every trial and challenge. It means seeking to glorify Him in all that we do.

At the heart of this life of faith is a deep awareness of Christ’s love for us. He loved us so much that He willingly laid down His life for us, taking our sins upon Himself so that we could be reconciled to God. In light of this great love, how can we do anything less than live our lives in devotion and service to Him?

Pray

Lord, help me to grasp the reality of my crucifixion and the new life that I have in You. May I live today by faith, drawing upon Your strength, wisdom, and love. Keep me ever mindful of Your great love and empower me to bring glory and honor to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
