His Steadfast Love
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.
Psalms 136:1
God Loves You
A solid theology results in a strong relationship with God. If we look back at all the men and women in the Bible who exhibited strong faith in God it is because they knew God in a personal and intimate relationship. God wants us to know Him and how much He loves us. As we trust and obey Him we begin to see how much He loves us.
Because God is good we can trust Him. The psalmist exclaims praise and gratefulness because of His goodness and love. When we experience His goodness it overwhelms us and we can’t help but praise His Name. God is working in your life to show you how good He is. Sometimes we don’t recognize it until after the fact. His goodness supersedes anything the world has to offer. When we do recognize His goodness we need to stop everything and praise and worship Him as our Lord.
A word to focus on in this verse is steadfast. God’s love is immovable, unchanging, and loyal. No one can love like God loves because His love is steadfast. Furthermore, His steadfast love is everlasting. We must ponder this because it will change our way of living. God does not punish those who He loves. He does discipline and chastise because He wants us to build character. He does not condemn but He does correct. It’s all because He loves us and wants us to know His great love for us. Can we ever comprehend how much love and goodness He has in store for us? Only when we take the time to reflect and meditate on Him do we start to visualize how much. Take time today to reflect on Him.
Prayer
Lord, Your love is the best thing for me and I thank you for loving and taking care of me.
