Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Philippians 4:6
Question
What are you anxious about today that God wants you to hand over to Him?
Context
Paul wrote these words from prison, chained, uncertain of his future, and surrounded by pressure. Yet he speaks with a supernatural confidence that changes everything. He reminds us that gratitude isn’t something we wait for when everything is calm; it’s something we choose when everything feels chaotic.
Application
The day before Thanksgiving is often full of pressure with cooking, cleaning, planning, traveling, schedules, and expectations. It’s easy for your heart to slip from gratitude into stress.
Anxiety rises when we feel out of control. Thanksgiving rises when we remember Who is in control. That’s why Paul’s words are perfect for today. Let thanksgiving push back the pressure of the day.
Truth For The Day
Thanksgiving is not something you wait for. It’s something you choose in the middle of stress.
Pray
Lord, as I prepare for Thanksgiving, quiet my heart from every worry. Help me give You every concern, every detail, and every responsibility. Fill me with gratitude today so tomorrow my thanks will overflow. Thank You for Your peace, Your presence, and Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
